# Your first 10 minutes

In ten minutes you’ll have IndexPlane watching your site in Observer mode, a first audit, a restore point and email alerts on. Nothing on your site changes.

In ten minutes you’ll have IndexPlane watching your site in Observer mode, a first audit, a restore point and email alerts on. Nothing on your site changes.

## Check Observer mode

1. Go to **IndexPlane → Console**.
2. The mode badge at the top says **Observer**. In Observer mode IndexPlane emits nothing on your site.

## Run your first audit

1. On the Console, click **Run check now**.
2. Wait for the protection strip to turn from **Checking** to a result. Most sites take under two minutes.

## Create your first restore point

Follow [Create an SEO Restore Point](https://tryindexplane.com/docs/restore-points/create/). It takes one click.

## Turn on email alerts

1. Go to **Settings → Alerts**.
2. Turn on **Email alerts** and check the recipient address.
3. Click **Save**.
